Travel Information

All participants should arrive at Burgas (by plane or by train) or directly to Sozopol (only by bus).

I. BY PLANE

All participants should arrive at Burgas (sometimes spelled as Bourgas) BOJ airport which is about 40 km from Sozopol. There are several ways to get to Bourgas. In summer there are daily flights from a number of European cities directly to Burgas, or transfer flights via Sofia.

The transfer from the airport to the hotel will be provided by LOC.

    There are two ways to get from Sofia to Sozopol:
  1. by air: daily flights Sofia-Burgas (BOJ) at 8:05 pm (May 31 - June 01) or 19:35 (June 02 and 03), and back at 5:40 am (6:40 am on June 06). The flight is about 1 hour, the price of the return ticket is approximately 150 Euro. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.air.bg/.
    If you fly to Byrgas, we will meet you at the airport.
  2. by bus: there are several buses daily from Sofia directly to Sozopol. The ride is about 5 hours and the price is approximately 15 Euro one way.
    If you travel by bus, we can book your ticket and will arrange your transfer from Sofia airport to the bus station.
II. BY TRAIN

There are several international railways destinations to/from Bulgaria to/from Budapest (Hungary), Bucharest (Romania), Belgrade (Serbia), Istanbul (Turkey), Thessaloniki (Greece), Alexandropolis (Greece), Prague (Czech Republic), Moscow (Russia), Minsk (Belarus)...

The "Burgas" Railway station is located in the southern part of the town, not far away the bus station from where you can reach Sozopol.

III. BY BUS

There is a well developed net of bus lines to/from main European cities - ask your local travel agencies. This is the cheapest mean of transport, faster than the train (for example the 1000 km journey from Sofia to Prague takes about 22 hours)
