In the previous newsletter issue (Vol. 3, No. 46), the websites for getting info on the "UN/Nigeria Workshop on ISWI" were provided.

If you have any interest in participating in this ISWI workshop (there are many ISWI events but the "Annual Workshop" is the flagship event of them all), PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING KEY DATES FOR THE WORKSHOP :

• Registration deadline: 30th June 2011
• Abstract Submission deadline: 30th June 2011
• Application for travel support deadline: 1st June 2011
• Notification for Financial Support: 1st Aug. 2011
• Workshop: 17th-21st October 2011

These annual workshops fall under the umbrella of the UNBSSI. As a reminder of its depth and breadth:

• The workshops from 1991-2004 focused on astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology.
• The workshops from 2005-2009 focused on heliophysics.
• The workshops from 2010- ... focus on space weather.

Note that financial support is available to young scientists working in developing countries. But application is required. Please visit the relevant websites to make your application. Your application will be screened by the ISOC (International Scientific Organizing Committee) of this workshop. If you have a good talk to present, you have a good chance of being accepted for travel funds.
